Drink Tea for Your Teeth!

Next to water, tea is the most consumed beverage in the world! At Eastside Comprehensive Dentistry, we realize that this comes as no surprise for the many tea-loving patients of Kelley Fisher D.D.S. Issaquah tea drinkers may be surprised, however, at the dental health benefits of drinking this terrific beverage.

A 2003 study presented by the American Society for Microbiology, suggests that chemical compounds found in tea can help ward off bacteria and viruses that sometimes cause dental decay and other conditions. So, what does this mean for the valued patients of Kelley Fisher D.D.S.? Issaquah tea drinkers now have one more reason to enjoy their beverage of choice!

However, there is no substitute for excellent preventive dentistry, which includes routine oral screenings and teeth cleanings, as well as proper at-home mouth care. Also, we’d like our patients who enjoy their tea with sugar to be aware that continually bathing your teeth in sugar could very well encourage tooth decay.
